2010 Theme: 100 Years of Scouting in the U.S.A.

Message From The Founder

William D. Boyce founded Scouting 100 years ago and since then the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the USA have been going strong mentoring the youth of this great nation into leaders and good citizens. The Barren River Lake Scout Celebration gives testimony to the value of these two outstanding organizations by showcasing what Scouting is all about. From the time when that boy appeared from the fog to do his “good turn” for Mr. Boyce till today we have witnessed how an idea from the founder, Lord Baden Powell, has turned into a movement that has grown into a world wide phenomenon. Come join us at the 17th Annual Barren River Lake Scout Celebration and be a part of the Scouting movement!
